Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Robert Garcia (CA-42), senior member of the House Aviation Subcommittee, announced the Department of Transportation has awarded over $24 million in federal funding for Long Beach Airport, which was requested to help upgrade the airport to improve operations and better serve travelers. This award from the Federal Aviation Administration will expand key parts of the terminal and improve areas to make it easier and more comfortable for passengers to get through the airport.

"Long Beach has one of the largest Cambodian populations in the U.S., said Congressman Garcia. "I joined our community to support a ceasefire of hostilities between Cambodia and Thailand. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced and many have lost their lives. We must have peace."

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Robert Garcia (CA-42) and Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) reintroduced the Clean Shipping Act. This bill establishes a path to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions from large ships that come to U.S. ports, protecting the health of port communities and addressing the environmental and climate impacts of shipping pollution. Specifically, the bill would mandate that by 2050, ships must cut all greenhouse gas pollution, and by 2035, they must emit zero emissions while parked at ports.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Robert Garcia (CA-42) and Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) reintroduced the “Ammunition Modernization and Monitoring Oversight (AMMO) Act.” The bill would restrict bulk sales of ammunition by requiring businesses to conduct background checks on buyers and would require businesses who sell ammunition to obtain the same federal license as gun dealers.
