Committees
Committee on Oversight and Accountability
- The Committee on Oversight and Reform is the main investigative committee in the U.S. House of Representatives. It has authority to investigate the subjects within the Committee’s legislative jurisdiction as well as "any matter" within the jurisdiction of the other standing House Committees. The Committee also has jurisdiction over wastewater infrastructure, the Nation’s emergency preparedness and response programs, public buildings and federal real estate management, federal economic development agencies, and the U.S. Coast Guard.
Caucuses
Congressional Progressive Caucus
- The Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) is made up of nearly 100 members standing up for progressive ideals in Washington and throughout the country. Since 1991, the CPC has advocated for progressive policies that prioritize working Americans over corporate interests, fight economic and social inequality, and advance civil liberties. The CPC champions progressive policy solutions like comprehensive immigration reform, good-paying jobs, fair trade, universal health care, debt-free college, climate action, and a just foreign policy.
- The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) addresses national and international issues and crafts policies that impact the Hispanic community. The function of the Caucus is to serve as a forum for the Hispanic Members of Congress to coalesce around a collective legislative agenda. The Caucus is dedicated to voicing and advancing, through the legislative process, issues affecting Hispanics in the United States, and Puerto Rico.
Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus
- The Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) works to achieve the needs, concerns, and best interests of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities. A primary objective of the Caucus is to establish policies on legislation and issues relating to AANHPI communities and to ensure that legislation passed meets their well-being.
- Congressman Robert Garcia is co-chair of the equality caucus. Founded in 2008, the mission of the Congressional LGBTQI+ Equality Caucus is to promote equality for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. The Caucus, which is led by the nine openly LGBTQ+ members of the House of Representatives, is strongly committed to achieving the full enjoyment of human rights for LGBTQ+ people in the U.S. and around the world.

The PORTS caucus is an advocate for our nation’s port infrastructure, secure and resilient supply chains, and for our nation’s economy. It works on a bipartisan basis to advocate for the needs of an efficient and sustainable freight infrastructure network.

The caucus works towards enhancing political dialogue and cooperation on shared values and principles. The group also works on issues such as trade, migration, human rights, and environmental protection, emphasizing that it is mutually beneficial to have a cooperative and strong relationship. Congressman Garcia is the first Peruvian-American in Congress.
- The Congressional Yes In My Back Yard (YIMBY) Caucus will promote the development of housing across the country. The YIMBY movement focuses on encouraging new housing development, removing barriers to the construction of new homes, and investing in the critical infrastructure we need to address the affordable housing crisis. Supply shortages of housing units contribute to rising costs that perpetuate America’s housing crisis, leaving millions of Americans without access to safe and affordable homes.
