It once again thrust itself into the spotlight after one of its subcommittees voted to subpoena the Justice Department’s files on Jeffrey Epstein, going further on the case than Republican leadership seemed willing to go.
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Robert Garcia (CA-42) released the following statement on the proposed ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand.
"Long Beach has one of the largest Cambodian populations in the U.S., said Congressman Garcia. "I joined our community to support a ceasefire of hostilities between Cambodia and Thailand. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced and many have lost their lives. We must have peace."

This weekend, Garcia is planning a different form of “oversight.”
A day after the bombshell report in the Wall Street Journal saying President Donald Trump was informed in May that his name appears in the Epstein files, Congressman Robert Garcia made an appearance in Long Beach, explaining why he's demanding the files be released.
"If you harmed and abused children, minors, young women, then you need to be held accountable for your crimes, and the oversight committee is ready to do just that," he said.

A top oversight Democrat sent a letter on Thursday to Fox Corp chairman Lachlan Murdoch and Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott demanding answers about Fox’s editing of a Donald Trump interview from June 2024 concerning Jeffrey Epstein — an edit they say both misled the public and distorted his position.
