Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene abruptly walked out of a House committee hearing on Tuesday after being accused of hugging and high-fiving defendants in the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. [...]
Garcia, who was selected to speak following Greene's comments, slammed the congresswoman over her remarks, accusing her of "coddling" those arrested in the January 6 attack.
"I want to remind the gentlelady that it was her that actually organized a trip to the D.C. jail to hug and high-five and sit with the insurrectionists that actually attacked our Capitol," he said. "So, if we're talking about the safety of D.C., and the Capitol, it is quite, I think, ironic."
Midway through Garcia's comments, Greene stood up and walked out.

“Well, when you say that you want to pollute, when immigrants are polluting this country, that to me and the blood of this country, that is absolutely reminiscent of things that Adolf Hitler said,” Garcia explained. “And, in fact, his imagery, the way he supports white nationalism, the way he supports white supremacy, and those kinds of comments are completely offensive to immigrants and hopefully to all Americans in this country.”

Washington D.C. — Two Democrats on the House’s main investigative panel are calling for a government review of Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s hold on senior military nominations last year and the impact it had on national security and service members. Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland, the top Democrat on the Oversight and Accountability Committee, and Rep. Robert Garcia, D-Calif., said the extent of the damage from the 10-month blockade is still unknown and warranted an examination by the watchdog Government Accountability Office.

I came to this country as a young child and became a citizen in my early twenties. Becoming an American was the greatest honor of my life and I am eternally grateful for all this country has provided for me and my family.
I have experienced our immigration system firsthand and that is why I come to work in Washington D.C. every day to find real, common-sense solutions for the issues we are facing today. When I was growing up, I knew what a privilege it was to be in this country, and I have committed my life to giving back to the community that has led me to where I am today.

Three gay Democratic U.S. congressmen have sent a letter to the Department of Defense demanding a quicker response to resolving cases of LGBTQ+ people dishonorably expelled from the military under the former “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy and the outright ban that preceded it. Signed by California Democratic U.S. Rep. Robert Garcia, the first out immigrant elected to Congress and the president of the most recent class of new legislators; Rep. Mark Pocan, the chair of the Congressional Equality Caucus from Wisconsin; and out Rep. Chris Pappas of New Hampshire, the letter was sent to Secretary Lloyd J. Austin.

Former President Trump told his supporters during a rally in Nevada that he is fine with being blamed for tanking the bipartisan border bill currently negotiated in the Senate.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Robert Garcia (CA-42),a Co-Chair of the Equality Caucus, wrote an oversight letter to the Secretary of Defense urging the Department seeking information on their efforts to proactively review and upgrade cases LGBTQI+ veterans who were discharged under less than honorable conditions for their sexual orientation prior to the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) 12 years ago. The Congressman was joined by Equality Caucus Chair Mark Pocan (WI-02) and Co-Chair Chris Pappas (NH-01).
