Long Beach, California – Today, Congressman Robert Garcia (CA-42) announced $1.1 million in funding for the City of Long Beach as part of the Emergency Rental Assistance Program.
This program was authorized by President Biden and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. It provides $21.55 billion to assist eligible households with financial assistance, provide housing stability services, and as applicable, to cover the costs for other affordable rental housing and eviction prevention activities.
“This funding will ensure that the City of Long Beach can continue to provide critical rental assistance and housing funds to its constituents.” Congressman Robert Garcia said. “At a time where rent is increasing and almost half of all households in the city are cost-burdened, these additional funds will provide necessary support to ensure community members have access to affordable housing.”
