Congressman Robert Garcia Statement on Passing of Samuel “Skip” Keesal

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Robert Garcia (CA-42) released the following statement on the passing of Samuel “Skip” Keesal.

“Skip Keesal was a force, a friend, and a devoted leader in our community who helped shape the country, our state, and the City of Long Beach.

Skip dedicated his life to helping others and always doing the right thing. He was as comfortable with Presidents and Senators as he was with community activists. He was a giant in the legal profession and our city’s most respected philanthropist.

He supported countless charities and projects throughout our community, and the impact of his work will never be forgotten. It’s a privilege to have known him, to have worked alongside him, and to have learned from him.

I will miss our lunches, his advice, and mostly his stories and friendship. My thoughts are with Beth, his family, and all those who loved him,” said Congressman Robert Garcia.
