Congressman Robert Garcia Reasserts Call for Expulsion of George Santos Following News of Federal Prosecutors Filing Criminal Charges

Washington D.C.- Congressman Robert Garcia (CA-42) today issued the following statement  in response to the news that federal prosecutors are filing criminal charges against George Santos: 

“George Santos needs to resign or be immediately expelled from the House. Today’s news that federal prosecutors are filing criminal charges against George Santos makes it crystal clear that we must act. Three months ago, I introduced a bill to expel George Santos and over 40 members have already signed the expulsion resolution. Speaker McCarthy needs to get serious and move our bill forward in the Ethics Committee and then to the full House instead of staying silent as an indicted liar remains in his caucus.”
