America's Gayest Congressman on His Pride Playlist

Since taking office in January, Congressman Robert Garcia has put his queer identity front and center. After sparring with Marjorie Taylor Greene, tweeting his Drag Race faves, and celebrating RuPaul and Beyoncé on the House floor, the former Long Beach, Calif., mayor is now in full Pride mode.

The politician — the first out gay immigrant in Congress — just released his Pride playlist and the congressman has impeccable musical taste. Legendary divas like Selena, Cyndi Lauper, Bey, Britney Spears, Janelle Monáe, and Mariah Carey are represented, as well as icons in the making like Dua Lipa and Doja Cat. In a release to the media, Garcia highlights what may be his favorite icon: Kylie Minogue. The Australian pop star is experiencing a career resurgence with her surprise hit about a heart beat, “Padam Padam.”
